XML Editor and the XSLT Debugger in Visual Studio 2005

The XML editor includes the following functionality:

1. Design time well-formedness and validation errors.
2. Validation support for Schema, DTD, and XDR.
3. Inferring an XSD Schema from an XML instance.
4. Converting a DTD or XDR to XSD Schema.
5. Context-sensitive Intellisense.
6. XSLT editing, viewing the results of the transform.
7. Standard Visual Studio code-editing, such as outlining and commenting or un-commenting.

The XSLT debugger comprises the following functionality:

1. Invoking the debugger from the XML Editor.

Web Services Enhancements for Microsoft .NET (WSE) is a supported add-on to Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and the Microsoft .NET Framework providing developers the latest advanced Web services capabilities to keep pace with the evolving Web services protocol specifications.

WSE 2.0 simplifies the development and deployment of secure Web services by enabling developers using Visual Studio .NET and the .NET Framework to more easily apply security policy, establish long-running secure conversations, retrieve and validate security tokens and more. New features include a policy framework, enhanced security model, message-oriented programming model, and support for multiple hosting environments. Service Pack 2 addresses customer issues and provides a new Kerberos token that enables support for constrained delegation and clustering scenarios.

MSN on Dec. 2 announced a new service named "MSN Spaces". Included in the announcement were the the beta availability of MSN Messenger 7.0, and upgrades to MSN Hotmail.

With MSN Spaces, customers can create personal Web sites, maintain blogs, display pictures in photo albums and even post music playlists from Windows Media Player. Built to enable people to share personal information through dynamic online scrapbooks, MSN Spaces provides an easy-to-use blogging tool that includes the ability to upload postings from an e-mail service or mobile device, as well as support for RSS (Really Simple Syndication) 2.0 so customers can publish blogs through RSS viewers and aggregators.
